Decision guide for SMEs
Outsource SEO without losing control
Outsourcing SEO only works when strategy, implementation and evidence stay connected. That is why we agree on the goals that matter beforehand and do not just report isolated rankings or activities.

- Clear goals from the outset: We choose commercial pages, conversion goals and strategic search topics before implementation starts.
- Technology and content: Indexing, speed, structure, content and internal links are treated as one system.
- No reporting for its own sake: An update concerns demonstrable change or completed work with supporting evidence.
Which SEO tasks can you outsource?
Most organisations do not have just one SEO problem. Technical barriers, missing pages, weak internal links and unclear conversion measurement reinforce each other. Simply ordering blog posts rarely solves this.
That is why SEOJuice starts with indexability and commercial information needs. Improvements then follow, each linked to a specific URL, data source and objective.
- Technical crawl and indexing checks
- Keyword and search intent research
- Service pages and educational content
- Internal links and structured data
- Monitoring in Search Console, Analytics and rank tracking
Which factors determine the costs?
Costs mainly depend on the technical condition of the site, the number of important pages, competition and how much implementation capacity is already available internally. An online shop with thousands of URLs needs a different approach from a local service business.
So do not only ask how much content or how many links you will get. Ask which problems will be resolved first, how quality is checked and how results are distinguished from activity.
- Website size and complexity
- Competition and search demand in the market
- Required technical work, content and external expertise
- Availability of reliable baseline measurements
- Desired pace and internal capacity
Checklist for an SEO partner
A reliable partner can explain what is uncertain. Nobody can guarantee rankings or AI mentions, but an agency can demonstrate which foundations have been improved and which hypothesis is being tested.
- Can every change be traced to a live URL or report?
- Are conversions correctly defined and deduplicated?
- Are existing pages improved before large amounts of new content are created?
- Do link-building methods comply with Google's spam policies?
- Can you access your own data and accounts?
What stays with your team and what does SEOJuice take over?
Outsourcing SEO does not mean giving away control of your website, brand or accounts. Your team remains responsible for the offer, subject expertise, commercial choices, legal claims and the ultimate promise to customers. SEOJuice can handle search intent research, technical checks, prioritisation, preparing changes and the agreed implementation. For work requiring specialist access, such as a CMS template or server configuration, your own web developer may remain involved. This makes it clear where the subject expertise sits and who is responsible for correct publication.
Before starting, we create a simple decision matrix: which changes may be implemented directly within agreed limits, which require content approval and which remain exclusively with the client or developer. Fixing a broken internal link, for example, may fall under a pre-approved work rule. A new service promise, price statement or change to an important template first requires a check by the appropriate owner. Accounts and source data remain under the client's control. This allows work to continue without sacrificing control, traceability or access to your own data for the sake of speed.
- Client: offer, subject expertise, legal claims and commercial priorities
- SEOJuice: analysis, reasoning, agreed implementation and evidence records
- Joint responsibility: conversion goals, publishing boundaries and review dates
- Web developer or internal team: changes requiring their own system knowledge or permissions
What happens in the first ninety days?
The first phase establishes a reliable foundation and a practical sequence of work, rather than producing as many new pages as possible. We check whether the website can be crawled and indexed, whether Search Console and Analytics measure the correct environment and which enquiries count as primary conversions. We then map the most important commercial URLs, search intents and technical dependencies. If a data source is missing or a conversion is counted twice, that limitation is made visible first. Otherwise, an increase or decrease can appear more precise than it really is.
This produces a prioritised work list. Problems affecting broad technical areas or reliable measurement usually come before small text corrections. We then improve existing commercial pages, internal links and answer structures. New content follows when an existing URL does not adequately address a relevant question. For each phase, we record what is live, what remains a hypothesis, where approval is missing and when a check is useful. Ninety days is a working window for a baseline, initial implementation and reprioritisation; it is not a guarantee of a ranking, traffic level, AI mention or revenue result.
- Start: access, data sources, conversion definitions and a technical baseline
- Next: barriers and existing commercial pages with broad significance
- Then: missing content, internal links and targeted experiments
- Always visible: completed, awaiting review, blocked or deliberately deferred
How can you see what was actually implemented?
A work item is not simply labelled 'completed'. For a technical change, we record at least the affected URL, the original signal, the decision made, the publication date and the post-publication check. Content records also include the approved version, relevant sources and changed internal links. If a proposal must be implemented by a web developer, the item stays open until the live environment meets the acceptance criteria defined in advance. This clearly separates advice from implementation, and implementation from a subsequently measured effect.
An appropriately qualified evidence example is: 'The canonical on a service page pointed to another URL. It was changed to the page's own indexable URL and then checked in the delivered HTML, together with the HTTP status and robots signal.' This record proves which correction is live, but not that it automatically increases traffic or revenue. Effects are evaluated separately using a complete measurement period and the available source data. If that data remains too limited, the honest conclusion is that the effect cannot yet be established reliably.
- Problem, source and affected URL
- Decision, owner and any approval
- Before-and-after check or change diff
- Publication date, acceptance criteria and recovery path
- Later impact measurement with period and data limitations
Frequently asked questions
How much does outsourcing SEO cost?
That depends on the scale, competition, technical condition and work required. Compare proposals by scope, measurement method and evidence, not only by numbers of texts or links.
How quickly does outsourcing SEO produce results?
Technical improvements can become visible quickly, but sustainable growth usually takes months. The pace depends on crawlability, competition, authority and implementation quality.
Can SEO be fully automated?
Monitoring and many analyses can be automated. Publishing, positioning, quality control and major technical changes require human review and clear boundaries.
Do my accounts and data remain mine?
Yes. Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads and website accounts should remain under the client's control, with shared access for the party carrying out the work.
How much time will outsourcing SEO still require from my team?
That depends on the agreed division of work. Your team is still needed for subject expertise, brand decisions, legal or commercial claims and access that cannot be shared. By defining decision rules, owners and response times in advance, we avoid turning every small work item into another meeting. During intake, we identify where ongoing client input is needed and where SEOJuice can work independently within the agreed boundaries.
Can SEOJuice work with my existing web developer or marketer?
Yes. SEOJuice can handle research, prioritisation, specifications and quality control while a web developer publishes technical changes or an internal marketing team supplies content. Every work item has an owner, a desired outcome and verifiable acceptance criteria. This makes responsibilities clear and prevents a proposal from being reported as implemented before the live change has been checked.
Does all existing content need to be rewritten when I outsource SEO?
No. First we assess which pages have a clear purpose and which should be retained, refined, merged or potentially removed. Expanding a strong existing page often makes more sense than creating a second URL for almost the same search intent. New content is most useful when a relevant customer question, service or decision stage is not yet answered convincingly and verifiably.
What happens when measurement data is temporarily missing or unreliable?
We do not draw firm conclusions about growth or decline. Work on technology, content or internal links can continue when there is sufficient justification, but reports state which source is missing and which assessment is consequently deferred. We first try to restore the measurement foundation. Historical gaps are not filled with estimated results presented as measured facts.
